The TNY280P is a member of the TinySwitch-PK family of energy-efficient, low power off-line switcher ICs from Power Integrations. It is designed specifically for use in power adapters, chargers, and other low-power devices.The TNY280P features an integrated 700 V power MOSFET, controller, and pulse width modulation (PWM) circuitry in a compact SO-8 package. This integrated design helps reduce system cost and complexity by eliminating the need for external components such as optocouplers and secondary-side regulation circuitry.The IC offers a wide input voltage range of 80 V to 265 V, making it suitable for use in universal input applications. It also includes a number of built-in protection features, such as over-temperature protection, over-voltage protection, and output short-circuit protection, ensuring safe and reliable operation.The TNY280P operates in a highly efficient burst mode operation, which helps minimize power losses and maximize energy savings. It is also compliant with various international energy efficiency standards, such as the European Union's Energy-related Products Directive (ErP) and the United States Department of Energy's Level VI requirements.
