TI's TMS320DM6446AZWT, or DM6446, is designed to meet the demanding processing needs of networked media applications in embedded devices. With a dual-core architecture that combines a high-performance TMS320C64x+™ DSP core and an ARM926EJ-S core, this device offers the operational flexibility of high-speed controllers and the numerical capability of array processors. The C64x+ core, with a performance of up to 6480 million instructions per second (MIPS), is well-suited for high-performance DSP programming challenges, particularly in digital media applications. Additionally, the DM6446 features a rich set of peripherals, including configurable video ports, Ethernet MAC, UARTs, PWM peripherals, and more, for enhanced device control and communication capabilities. The device also includes a Video/Imaging Co-processor (VICP) to offload video and imaging processing tasks from the DSP core, freeing up DSP MIPS for other algorithms. Development tools for both the ARM and DSP are available to simplify programming and debugging processes
